The Start of Something Great

Traci Morby

For years there has been a need for me to expand my wedding business.  I'm not sure why I fought against it and tried to do everything myself.  Over the last year I have done some serious personal growth and I realized that I don't have to do it all.  I can, in fact, hand off some of the responsibility and grow as a result.

At first I battled with the idea of giving up because I was overworked and overwhelmed.  But I couldn't just walk away from weddings and the business/relationships I had built.  After lots of prayers and encouragement from those closest to me, a new company emerged.

I am so excited to announce "The Pretty Bride Co."- a collection of hair and makeup artists.

With more artists + stylists working alongside me, I will be able to take on more but share the load with them.  We even have a coordinator that will be handling all of our emails and scheduling. I cannot tell you how excited and relieved I feel.  I truly feel like this is the direction I should have taken a long time ago and that my prayers have been answered.  Every year seems to get better, and I really cannot wait to see what we accomplish as we continue to grow.

We have a few dates left for 2018 and are filling up fast for 2019 so if you're getting married or know someone that is please fill out the contact form on our site!

Clean & Green Hair Care for Everyone

Three years ago I was at a crossroads.  I had been diagnosed with an allergy to a common preservative.  Methylisothiazolinone (MIT) is found in most water based products.  I was miserable and covered in chronic hives.  A diagnosis like this is horrifying for any one.  As a hairstylist my job involved non-stop contact with products that contained MIT.  Turns out, I'm one of thousands (maybe even hundreds of thousands) of people in the world that are allergic to MIT.

As I began searching for products that were safe for me to use I began researching ingredients and realizing that most of the beauty and hair products on the market are absolutely horrible for us.  When I finally found Original Mineral Products it was like a breath of fresh air.

O&M is an Australian-born hair care line.  "Packaged luxuriously, these products have a Free From Five formulation – no harmful sulphates, parabens, propylene glycol, MIT or Triclosan. They’re approved by PETA for their vegan-friendly, high-performing natural ingredients, and sit on the shelves of top salons and boutique retailers around the world." -per their website.

The best part is that these products give amazing results.  You've probably heard me talking about the leave in conditioner "Know Knott" as one of my favorite products of all time.  My daughters won't let me come at them with a brush unless they see Know Knott in my hand as well.  Even better, it is FANTASTIC on extension hair.  Spray it in after towel drying the hair and it allows for smooth and easy brushing + it adds enough moisture to the hair to keep it tangle free longer.

In 2018 my goal is to make healthier and greener choices for myself, my family, and my clients.  O&M is the first step, but be on the lookout for more changes and improvements around The Studio.
